In order to see if psychoanalytic psychotherapy is the right approach for you, I offer an initial consultation. This may involve one or more meetings so that I can learn about you and your difficulties.
If you decide to begin psychotherapeutic treatment, we will then discuss frequency of sessions, i.e. once, twice or 3 times p/week, times of sessions, and fees.
Regular psychotherapy sessions are for
50 mins and I charge a range of fees
depending on the frequency of sessions - once, twice or three times weekly.
What is Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy?
Psychoanalytic psychotherapy draws on theories and practices of psychoanalysis. It is a therapeutic process which helps patients understand and resolve their problems by increasing awareness of their inner world and its influence over relationships both past and present. It differs from most other therapies in aiming for deep seated change in personality and emotional development.
Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy seeks to help people understand and change deep-seated, complex unconscious emotional and relationship problems. Many people who experience a loss of meaning in their lives or who are seeking a greater sense of fulfilment may be helped by psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
